PCV Hurricane Preparation Plan
By following these steps and having a well-thought-out hurricane preparation plan in place, Paradise Coast Vacations home watch service can help protect your property and ensure the safety of homeowners during a storm. PCV Hurricane Preparation Plan is included and billed separately based on your specific property needs, per event.
Develop a communication plan
Develop a communication plan: Ensure that there is a reliable method of communication in place to reach homeowners in case of an emergency. This may include phone calls, text messages, emails, or a dedicated online portal.
Secure outdoor furniture and objects
In the event of a hurricane or tropical storm, make sure all outdoor furniture, decorations, and objects are secured or brought indoors to prevent them from becoming projectiles in high winds.
Inspect the property
Conduct pre-and-post storm inspections of the property to check for any potential hazards or areas of concern that may need attention before a storm hits.
Install or Close existing storm shutters
If the property is equipped with storm shutters, make sure they are in good working condition and can be easily deployed. We do not use plywood.
Clear gutters and drains
Ensure that gutters and drains are clear of debris to prevent water from pooling and causing damage to the property.
Backup power supply
Consider installing a backup power supply, such as a generator, to ensure that essential systems, such as sump pumps or security systems, can continue to operate during a power outage.
Create an emergency kit
Put together an emergency kit that includes essential items such as water, non-perishable food, flashlights, batteries, first aid supplies, and important documents.
Evacuation plan
Develop an evacuation plan in case a hurricane poses a serious threat to the property. Make sure homeowners are aware of the plan and know where to go in case of an evacuation order.
